Kalpana Beauty Salon is owned and
operated by Mrs. Elizabeth. She was raised in New Delhi
and had her early education at one of the most prestigious
public school – Oak Grove (run by the British at that
time) in Missouri. She completed her college education at
Jesus and Mary College, affiliated to the Delhi University
where she Successfully completed a degree (B.A-hons.) in
Economics.She then followed a course in Beauty Culture and
Cosmetology for 2 years at the defense colony in Delhi under
Mrs. Sneha Chatterji (wife of Air Marshall Chatterji) and
successfully completed the course. She then joined Anitha
(daughter of Air Marshall Chatterji) and opened a B.S in
Connaught circle, Delhi. ....
Subsequently, she got married and
moved to Chennia, where she also set up a Beauty Salon in
a prestigious hotel. She then moved to Ernakulam, Kerala
and opened the 1st KALPANA Beauty Salon in 1979. From the
beginning it was a great success and people kept flocking
to receive beauty treatment from all parts of kerala. She
has undergone training in Electrolysis and cosmetology in
the United States of America, and introduced electrolysis
for the first time in Kerala.
Along with this she ably opened more Beauty Salon in Ernakulum/Cochin.
She also opened other Kalpana Salons in 5-Star hotels in
Mysore and Ooty. She was invited by other 5-Star hotels
to open Beauty Salon. During this time she opened Multi-gyms
and gents saloons in Kerala, Mysore and Ooty. She was the
only person to bring in highly trained Chinese staff from
Calcutta and Delhi to man these Beauty Salons. Even at the
present time these Chinese are continuing to work for her
salons.
Mrs. Elizabeth owns a training school for Beauty Culture.
She has taken and trained women from very poor backgrounds
in Kerala and other places in India. Some of these women
are successfully running their own beauty salons at present.
She is proud to state that at least 90% of these trained
staff is working in Kerala and most of the other parlours
have got her trained staff or students as they are in much
demand.
